An opportunity for collaboration and shared vision has arisen to achieve the next objectives of the UCBM of Rome and the "Fondazione Policlinico Universitario Campus Bio-Medico."
On Friday, April 12, 2024, the meeting of the International Advisory Board took place at the Campus Bio-Medico in Rome. Alessandro Pernigo, President of the Biomedical University Foundation, and Laura Picalarga, Secretary General, warmly welcomed the attendees. Erik Dyson, a fundraiser for the Biomedical Foundation US, and Thomas Cox, CEO of the OnPoint Group, were also in attendance, having traveled from the United States with their spouses.
The day commenced with a meeting with the esteemed Rector, Eng. Eugenio Guglielmelli, along with the Chief Executive Officer and General Director of the UCBM, Andrea Rossi. They presented the university's development projects across both educational and research fields.

Subsequently, with the guidance of Prof. Leandro Pecchia, Professor of Biomedical Engineering, a visit to the engineering and medical laboratories was arranged. This provided an opportunity to explore the cutting-edge scientific research at the intersection of medicine, engineering, and food biology, highlighting the technological innovation that characterizes the Campus Bio-Medico University of Rome.

A particularly touching moment occurred during the visit to theElderly Center of the Alberto Sordi Foundation and the Palliative CareCenter, guided by Grazia Della Torre, the Business Development Managerof the Center. During the visit, the Foundation's new projects werepresented, including the creation of a new day center for people affectedby Alzheimer's and related dementias.

Afterward, a meeting took place with Paolo Sormani, Chief ExecutiveOfficer and General Director of the "Fondazione Policlinico UniversitarioCampus Bio-Medico," to highlight the synergistic collaboration betweenthe University and the Polyclinic, as well as the future Clinical ResearchCenter.

During lunch, attendees had the opportunity to meet some of theinternational students, gaining a deeper understanding of the impact theCampus Bio-Medico has on the lives and education of young people fromdiverse cultures and backgrounds.

Finally, the meeting of the members of the International AdvisoryBoard took place. In attendance were Alessandro Pernigo, Laura Picalarga, and Paolo Arullani, alongside Marco Sala, Giovanni Castellaneta, Federica Marchini, Greg Baracchi, Erik Dyson, and Thomas Cox. The aim was to foster an increasingly collaborative and shared visionto achieve the next objectives of the UCBM.
